Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"This place is a hidden gem. Some of the best fresh fried catfish I've had North of the Mason Dixon line & W/of the Mississippi. The staff is tremendously friendly and treat you like gold. Sure, it's in the mall but go upstairs and get ready to be wow'd!"
"Ordered the fish. Excellent fried fish, crispy and fresh. Get the hot sauce too! Mac and cheese was delicious, reminded me of childhood. Home cooked taste. Juice was a plus, kids loved them"
"Don’t ask questions just go to the Lloyd Center food court and eat here. The fried swai fish was absolutely delicious. So fresh, cornmeal breaded, piping hot. Wow. Excellent collared greens. Everything perfectly seasoned. Will be back to try literally everything else."
"Absolutely loved this place. My wife found it while taking the kids to a craft day in the Lloyd. We went back today and it did not disappoint! I spent some time talking to Thomas the owner he's very personable and a pleasure to connect with also his sweet family was all there too helping with the service. The fried okra, hush puppies, chicken and pork ribs were all fantastic but the perfectly fried catfish is what really brought this southern boy back home. Thanks ya'll we'll definitely be back!"
"Absolutely delicious. This is great bbq. Not your typical mall food. With so few options left for dining at Lloyd Center this place is a gem. Had the chicken sandwich and collard greens. Hand breaded, fresh chicken. Great bbq sauce and the greens were fantastic. Owners said everything is homemade. Definitely coming back to try more of what they offer."
"A reason to return to the Lloyd Center! The owner, from Mississippi, singlehandedly serves up the best pork ribs I have had in the Pacific NW. The twisted greens were also a real treat for this SC girl. Highly recommended!"
"Ok seriously, this was like a Friday night catfish fry from my childhood. Absolutely the best catfish I’ve had in years and I always order it if it’s on the menu. Delicious fried okra, another hard to come by favorite. And the sweet owner let me try the greens. They were also fantastic! I’ll be getting those next time with some cornbread. So excited for something new in the mall that also happens to be delicious! Thank you!"
"It's really good! The sides weren't overly salty (you may need a pinch), the yams weren't too sweet. The rub on the meat was a bit salty (for my palette), but I took off the extra rub, and it was perfect. He even had several colors of Kool-aid. I'll be back for sure to try the fish and a few if those desserts."
